The Rhino ImpactStep rear step is specially designed to protect your Volkswagen Crafter II from (forklift) damage during loading or unloading, and from parking damage at low speeds. The rear step also provides easier access to the cargo area of your van. The ImpactStep is only suitable for vans without a tow bar. The step has a depth of 135 mm and is made of a curved aluminium extrusion profile, which follows the shape of the vehicle. The rear step is equipped with innovative pivoting shock absorbers, which ensure that also angled impacts are well absorbed. Under high impacts, the class 8.8 bolts will shear and the shock absorbers will deform, preventing or limiting damage to the vehicle chassis. In the event of such a heavier impact, replacement shock absorbers are available, which is much cheaper than expensive chassis repairs. The Rhino ImpactStep has been independently tested by Millbrook Proving Ground, one of the world's leading automotive testing facilities.
The rear step has a load capacity of 136 kg and features a textured, anti-slip surface in yellow on the top. Bright red reflective strips mark the back of the rear step, making it clearly visible to drivers behind the van. The ImpactStep is mounted to the original chassis mounting points, with custom-made mounting brackets for your type of van. With respect to parking sensors, there are three different versions, with availability varying by vehicle model:
- Without parking sensors: Least expensive version. Generally used for cars without parking sensors. Can also be mounted on cars with parking sensors, but then they must be deactivated and you will lose the sensor function.
- Universal PDC: If your car doesn't have parking sensors and you want to add this feature with the rear step. Includes universal parking sensors, a control unit, and a beeper for installation in your cabin. Note: Advanced DIY skills required.
- Connect+: Only for cars with original parking sensors. The original parking sensors are transferred to the rear step with the Connect+ ‘plug & play’ wiring kit.

Does this product fit my car?
Check whether your car corresponds to the description such as car brand, model, year of build and body type (hatchback, station wagon, sedan etc.):
- Year of build. Example: a product fits on a car model from 2004 until 2013.
- Be careful if your car is from the beginning year (example: 2004) -> your car could be the previous model -> check the Factory code to be sure.
- Be careful if your car is from the ending year (example: 2013) -> your car could be the subsequent model -> check the Factory code to be sure.
- Factory code. At most products this is mentioned (between brackets). You could check on www.wikipedia.org what the factory code is of your car.
- Body type. Please note that a 4-doors, 5-doors or wagon are not the same.
How can I mount the product on my car?
There is a manual available online for most products. Look for the “Assembly manual” icon on the product page and click on it to open it.
When can the product be delivered to me?
Not all products are on stock; some products need a longer time before we can ship it to you. We always mention this availability, below the green order button “Add to cart”.
