Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a roof rack and roof bars?

A roof rack is a sturdy frame that covers (part of) the roof and offers high load capacity for large or irregular loads such as ladders and pipes. Roof bars are more flexible and handy for smaller loads or occasional use.

Will the roof rack fit my car?

When you are on the roof racks category page, you can select your car under 'Your Car Model.' After selecting your car model, you will be directed to all roof racks suitable for your car. Make sure you have chosen the correct car model, as an incorrect selection may result in an unsuitable roof rack for your car.

All roof racks have a product title and description that indicate which car the product fits. If you have a special edition of a car, pay close attention when choosing a suitable roof rack. Any specific details or additional information are always provided by us under the product title.

If you are unsure whether the roof rack fits your car or have any other questions, contact us at +31 416 235 600 (on working days between 9:00 AM - 0:30 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) or send an email with your question to support@carparts-expert.com.

Which roof rack brand should I choose?

For intensive professional use, Rhino is a strong choice. Q-Top is lightweight, affordable and corrosion-resistant for daily use, and Equinox is made of stainless steel for maximum strength and a long lifespan.

What is your shipping time?

The shipping time varies depending on the type of product and is indicated for all our products. If the product is in stock and you have ordered and paid before 2:30 PM, your order will be shipped the same working day with the transport service of your choice. Within the Netherlands, your package will almost always be delivered to you one day after shipment. In the rest of Europe, delivery time is 2-7 working days, depending on the country of destination. The mentioned shipping time is an estimate and cannot be guaranteed.

If the product is not in stock, we will order it from our supplier and your order will be temporarily placed on backorder. We will then state on the product page within which period we expect to ship your order. Once we receive your product from our supplier, we will process your order and ship it using your chosen shipping service.

Do you still have questions about the shipping time or any other inquiries? Contact us at +31 416 235 600 (on working days between 9:00 AM - 0:30 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) or send an email with your question to support@carparts-expert.com.

What are your shipping costs?

The shipping costs vary depending on the type of product, the transport service, the weight, and the dimensions of the product you have ordered. Once you have added the product to your shopping cart, you can see the different shipping methods and the shipping costs under 'Shipping method'.

If you do not want to pay shipping costs, you can choose to pick up the order at our location in Waalwijk (only for customers in Belgium or in The Netherlands). If the product is in stock, you can usually pick it up on the same day. If the product is not in stock, we will indicate on the product page the timeframe within which your order will be ready for pickup. In both cases, wait for the email notifying you that your order is ready for pickup.

Do you have questions about the shipping costs or any other inquiries? Contact us at +31 416 235 600 (on working days between 9:00 AM - 0:30 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) or send an email with your question to support@carparts-expert.com.

What is the difference between a roof rack with an open and a closed side?

With an open side, the edge of the load platform is free, making it easy to load from the side and strap down long items such as ladders and pipes. With a closed side, an edge or panel runs along the platform, so loose and smaller items stay in place better. An open roof rack is more likely to produce wind noise, while a closed one is often quieter.

What tools do I need to assemble roof racks myself?

For products that still need to be assembled after delivery, we provide the manual on the product page. You will also receive this manual in hard copy with your order. You can already see what you need for self-assembly; in most cases, small tools such as an Allen key are included.

Do you have questions about the status of your order or do you have another question? Please contact us at +31 416 235 600 (on working days between 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) or send an email with your question to support@carparts-expert.com.

Roof racks for your MAN TGE from CarParts-Expert

A roof rack is an essential addition to your vehicle if you regularly transport large or long items. Whether it's ladders, pipes, construction materials or roof boxes – with a roof rack car, you make optimal use of the space on top of your vehicle. At CarParts-Expert, we offer a wide range of roof racks designed for both private and professional use. Looking for a roof rack car that suits your work, driving style, and vehicle type? You've come to the right place.

With a roof rack, you make optimal use of your van’s roof for ladders, pipes, boards and other long or awkward loads. That keeps the cargo area free for tools and materials. We supply roof racks for professionals in construction, installation and logistics, as well as private users who regularly transport long items.

Choosing the right roof rack

The right roof rack depends on your vehicle and your load. A van such as the Renault Trafic, Volkswagen Transporter or Ford Transit has different requirements than a compact commercial vehicle like the Citroën Berlingo. That’s why we offer models from lightweight aluminium to heavy-duty versions for intensive daily use. All our roof racks are TÜV certified and built to strict European safety standards.

Benefits of a roof rack

  • Extra load capacity without giving up space in the cargo area
  • Safe, stable transport of long and heavy items
  • Smart extras such as integrated mounting points, wind deflectors and ladder rollers
  • Less risk of damage to your load and your vehicle

Quality and materials

Our roof racks are made from high-quality anodised aluminium or stainless steel. This means a long lifespan and low maintenance, even in rain and wind. Depending on the model, you mount the roof rack on the roof rails or directly onto the vehicle structure. Whether you choose a lightweight or a heavier roof rack for your van, you always get stability, durability and a professional finish.

Our brands

At CarParts-Expert we work exclusively with top brands known for quality, safety and ease of use. Each brand has its own advantages, so you can always find the roof rack that suits your vehicle and purpose.

Rhino: robust solutions for intensive use

Rhino is a well-known UK brand, renowned for extremely durable roof racks for commercial vehicles. A Rhino roof rack is engineered for intensive professional use and withstands heavy loads. With features such as integrated ladder rollers, aerodynamic spoilers and modular frame systems, it is a smart choice for professionals in construction, installation and assembly. Rhino roof racks are TÜV certified and combine maximum functionality with a sleek design.

Q-Top: strong value for money

Q-Top offers reliable, affordable roof racks for anyone who wants a quality product without compromising on safety. They are made from high-grade aluminium with a tough black coating that protects against the weather. Q-Top roof racks are ideal for self-employed tradespeople and small businesses looking for a practical, lightweight, corrosion-resistant roof rack for daily use. Thanks to easy installation and wide compatibility with various van models, a Q-Top roof rack is ready to go in no time.

Equinox: modern design and lightweight construction

Equinox combines modern design with high-end materials. The Equinox roof rack is remarkably light, yet strong enough for daily use. The brand focuses on ease of use, minimal wind resistance and a streamlined look. Thanks to the innovative construction, it is easy to install and suitable for many professional applications. The rounded profiles ensure a quiet ride and lower fuel consumption, while the sturdy construction ensures optimal safety.

With brands such as Rhino, Q-Top and Equinox, you always choose quality.

Open or closed side: what’s the difference?

Roof rack with open side

An open side leaves the edge of the load platform free. This makes it easy to load and unload from the side and to secure the load to the crossbars or mounting points with straps. It is handy for long, narrow and protruding loads such as ladders, pipes and cable trays. However, an open roof rack is more likely to produce wind noise.

Roof rack with closed side

A closed side has an edge or panel along the side of the load platform. This keeps the load better in place and stops loose or round items from sliding off. That makes a closed side a good choice for smaller, loose loads such as toolboxes, building materials and crates. A closed roof rack is often quieter than an open one, because the wind flows along the side instead of through it.

Roof rack or roof bars?

Not sure whether you need a roof rack or a roof bar system? A roof rack offers higher load capacity and better support for large or irregular loads. Roof bars are more flexible for smaller loads or occasional use. At CarParts-Expert we’re happy to advise you on the best solution for your situation.

Does the roof rack fit your van?

Our roof racks are vehicle-specific. With the filters in our webshop you can easily find the right roof rack for your commercial van. Whether you drive a compact van or a high-roof model, we guarantee a suitable solution.
