This Kleinmetall TraficGard dog guard (also called a cargo separator) is a universal dog guard, suitable for your Mitsubishi ASX and many other car models. With the TraficGard you can safely transport your pet, but it also protects the driver and passengers from the dangers of unsecured cargo in the boot space. In several EU countries (like Germany and Spain) it is mandatory to transport your dog in a special dog harness, in a dog crate or behind a dog guard. The TraficGard is securely attached to the headrests of the rear seats and can be adjusted to the seat inclination. Available in several sizes.
A Kleinmetall TraficGard dog guard can often be combined with a matching Kleinmetall Masterline cargo divider. If this is the case, the cargo divider is shown below under “Related products”. If you select your car model in the product filter, all suitable dog guards for your car will be shown automatically.

The dog gate is a bit too small for…
The dog guard is a bit too small for the Mercedes-Benz GLC (X254) 2022-, because our Lagotto puppy (current height 43cm) can climb into the rear area between the left edge of the dog guard and the C-pillar (approx. 18cm gap). Due to the dimensions of the connectors and the headrest spacing in this vehicle, the supplied knurled screw on the right headrest cannot be fully tightened. However, this does not affect the stability. If you want to create a complete frictional connection, you have to replace this knurled screw with a machine screw (smaller head), for example. However, this would be at the expense of quick dismantling (e.g. if you want to fold down the back seat). In itself, however, the guard is completely sufficient for accident protection and serves its purpose.
